KENNEL ASSISTANT NEEDED – KINGSTON 10

A veterinary hospital in the Kingston 10 area is seeking a young, hardworking and dependable person to work as a Kennel Assistant. The successful applicant must be willing and able to work shifts on any day of the week, including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Duties include: • Feeding, watering and providing basic care for hospitalized and boarded animals • Cleaning and disinfecting kennels, cages and animal-care areas • Walking and safely handling dogs and other animals • Assisting veterinary staff with handling and restraining animals when required • Washing bedding, bowls and other kennel equipment • Maintaining a clean, sanitary and orderly work environment • Performing other general duties associated with the care of animals and operation of the hospital Applicants should be physically fit and comfortable working with dogs and cats and must be able to safely lift and carry animals weighing up to 50 lb. Previous experience working with animals would be an asset, but a good attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are important.
