Live-In Caregiver for Child with Disabilities

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated live-in caregiver to provide full-time, personalized care for a 7-year-old child with disabilities. The child is currently unable to walk, talk, sit, or stand independently and requires full assistance with daily activities. Location: Primarily Jamaica, with international travel required Languages Required: English and Portuguese (Brazilian) fluency is mandatory Travel: Passport required; travel to Guyana and Brazil is mandatory. Occasional travel to North America and Europe may also be required. Work Schedule and Rest Days: This is a live-in role that requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings beyond 5 p.m., as the child’s care needs may extend into the night. The caregiver will receive one full day off per week and reasonable rest periods each day in accordance with Jamaican labour standards. Additional time off may be provided during family travel or as agreed. Key Responsibilities: • Feed the child and ensure adequate nutrition and hydration • Bathe, dress, and maintain personal hygiene for the child • Administer medication as directed by the physician • Maintain dental hygiene and perform daily oral care • Change and clean the child as needed • Put the child to bed and ensure a safe and comfortable sleeping environment • Wash and care for the child's clothing and bed linen • Keep the child’s living and play areas clean and organized • Engage in sensory and developmental activities to stimulate progress • Accompany the child and mother to therapy sessions and medical appointments • Travel with the child as required Requirements: • Fluency in English and Portuguese (Brazilian) • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally • Experience caring for children with physical disabilities is mandatory • Kind, patient, and reliable with a strong sense of responsibility • Willingness to live in with the family full-time Salary: JMD 75,000 per month (live-in position, room and board provided) This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child’s life while becoming part of a loving and supportive family environment.
