REGISTERED PHARMACIST WANTED – KINGSTON
A medical doctor is seeking an experienced registered pharmacist in Jamaica to collaborate in establishing a small community pharmacy alongside a private medical practice in Kingston.
This opportunity would ideally suit a pharmacist with community pharmacy, management, or pharmacy start-up experience who is interested in helping develop the pharmacy from the planning and regulatory stages through to opening and operation.
The pharmacist would assist with:
• Planning the pharmacy layout and dispensary workflow
• Reviewing proposed premises before a lease is finalized
• Advising on Pharmacy Council requirements
• Assisting with preparation of the Pharmacy Council establishment application
• Preparing for Pharmacy Council inspection and registration
• Advising on medication storage, shelving, refrigeration, security and regulatory requirements
• Developing appropriate dispensing and pharmacy operating procedures
• Helping establish suppliers and initial inventory
• Serving as the Registered Pharmacist in Charge/Control, subject to mutual agreement and Pharmacy Council approval
The intention is to begin as a small, professionally operated pharmacy integrated with a medical practice, with the opportunity to expand as patient volume develops.
The pharmacist's working arrangement may initially be part-time, with hours and remuneration to be negotiated.

Applicants should be currently registered to practise pharmacy in Jamaica and in good standing with the Pharmacy Council. Experience managing or establishing a community pharmacy would be a significant advantage.
